The Way of the Tree

The Way of the Tree is based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku (aka Forest Bathing), is the simple and therapeutic practice of spending time in a suitable woodland moving slowly amongst the trees. Bathing in the healing atmosphere of the forest, to help you to relax and become calm.

By leaving your phone behind gives you the opportunity to digital detox, as you engage your senses, connect with all the sights, sounds, smells and feeling of the natural world and give yourself a total reboot.

The Japanese use Shinrin Yoku as a vital part of their preventative medicine as well as in the treatment of many illnesses. The concept has spread around the world where a tremendous amount of research has gone into the effectiveness of Shinrin Yoku. The results all agree the benefits are very real and some have called Shinrin Yoku the prescription that has no side effects and is easy to learn.

Based upon several years of use, I have taken the concepts of Shinrin Yoku and added other modalities like Meditation, Mindfulness and Breathwork as appropriate. This enhances the experience and has proven to be more beneficial to my clients, then as their healing progresses, I teach them how to be able to tap into this power for themselves to be able to maintain the benefits without having to be dependent on me.

Some benefits from Shinrin Yoku include:

Create calm & relaxation.
Create clarity & focus.
Increase motivation & energy.
Improve mood & sleep.
Help with Stress, anxiety, depression, overwhelm & burnout.
Lower High blood pressure & heart rate.
Improve immune system.
Generally, improve health.

When Shinrin Yoku is done on a 1-2-1 basis it starts with my unique Personal Wellness Assessment and then your specific conditions can be dealt with.

If you are unable to do the walk, I have a similar session that can be done in my Botanical room.

In groups for help with relaxation and generally health improvements or for team building.

Hito Zentai Meditation & Mindfulness Classes

Using the philosophy of Kaisen

Can Kaisen really help you be more creative and productive?

Can meditation help you manage anxiety or depression and build Resilience?

Does mindfulness help you to concentrate better and be more focused?

In both business and personal lives in Japan they believe in Kaisen which means making small changes continuously to improve. This philosophy is the guiding force in my Hito Zentai classes, which are so much more than just meditation and mindfulness classes.

Throughout the course I help you understand why we struggle with life as well as giving you the tools to deal with it. I include such Japanese beliefs as Wabi Sabi, Ikigai, and Shoganai, all of which help Japanese people to live longer, healthier, happier and more productive lives.

These aspects of Japanese philosophy are beginning to be recognised around the world for their benefits. As is the power of shizen, nature which is at the heart of everything I teach.

I hold classes in the afternoon and evenings, with each session lasting for 90 mins, and they come with support material to help you at home.

The Way of The Cherry Blossom

Japan is most famous for its beautiful show of cherry blossoms, which are truly uplifting. However, it is their philosophies that have drawn upon in creating my unique 14 Steps to wellness plan.

I teach people how to make these 14 philosophies part of their daily lives and thus become healthier and more resilient to cope with life’s challenges. The two courses, held in the Zen room at our centre, run back-to-back and cover the mind, body and spirit covering:

Your mindset, how you think and deal with life.
Your body, how you look after your body, food, drink, exercise, sleep.
Your spirit, how you enrich your life, have purpose, connect and contribute.

This is not about dieting or having to go to a gym or have access to special equipment, it is about a change of attitude to life and how you live it.

As part of the courses, I teach Meditation, Mindfulness, Breathwork, Mindful Movement and Shinrin Yoku. By the end of the two courses people will have the necessary knowledge and skills to carry on improving their health and wellness.

I started meditation some years ago, when I was in a bad place. Nadine suggested meditation classes, however I was not able to cope with a room full of strangers.

Nadine worked with me on my own and finally I was able to join a class.

Meditation and Nadine really helped me get my life back in order, I would recommend Nadine to anyone needing help.

Jayne

I was shutting out my family, bottling up my emotions and generally being an unhappy person who was a pain to live with.

Emma helped me to sort out my head, and emotions, therefore I could re-engage with my family and talk with them.

Thanks for all your help, I recommend Emma and meditation to anyone.

Meditation and mindfulness is the best thing ever! It calms my mind at the end of a busy day.

Thanks to Nadine teaching me these great skills, I now recognise when I am getting myself stressed and can stop myself getting overwhelmed.

I would happily recommend Nadine to help you. Thanks!

Emma got me meditating a while ago. I was feeling very down and couldn’t get over a bad break-up.

A mixture of life coaching and meditation from Emma helped me get my act together and life is great now!

I would wholeheartedly recommend Emma if you are where I was.

Shinrin Yoku

Gain clarity in your mind
Improve your focus and/or learn active listening
Be able to relax and/or improve your sleep
Deal with your struggles with stress and learn resilience
Deal with your feelings of anxiety, depression or overwhelm
Discover how nature can help both your mind and body to be healthy
Deal with grief, bereavement & loss
Feel more connected to aspects of your life or to go on a spiritual (not religious) journey to find real peace and happiness
Learn meditation and/or mindfulness
Become the real you, living the life you would choose if you found you only had a year to live. Liberated, content and happy!

At the heart of Shinrin Yoku is nature, trees in particular and this is at the heart of Japan’s ancient belief of Shizen, the idea that we are all connected to nature emotionally, spiritually and physically. Research all over the world have confirmed the benefits of time spent in amongst the trees.

Our modern lives have separated us from the life we were designed for, but when you come on a Shinrin Yoku Walk with me I help you reconnect and gain the benefits that nature offers. Shinrin Yoku helps with so many different health problems and is particularly good in dealing with debilitating conditions like stress, anxiety, depression and a sense of being overwhelmed that can stop us being happy and living a full life.
So, instead of wishing you felt better than you do why not book a walk with me and actually feel how you wished you did.
