Online Resources for Schools

Where nature, history and creative writing come alive!

As a teacher, you will know that it is always easier to pass on knowledge to someone wanting to learn. This is where these online resources come in, built from years of experience in schools.

They are designed to inspire and start your pupils on their journey of discovery.

These are the first of many, so watch this space as more will soon be available.

LITERACY

Creative Writing Programme

This programme in five sections helps children understand how to create the bare bones of a story and then take it on to completion.

They meet and learn how to use my six helpful friends to ask good questions to create stories, and for other uses within the national curriculum and beyond.

This programme also helps to develop oracy skills.

Comes complete with teacher's notes and is available for school-wide use.

NATURE

Wildwood Series

Deep in the wildwood there is a world past, present and future where children can discover the magic that is nature.

This online resource is linked to Key Stage 1 and 2 topics in the curriculum, and each unit is able to be used independent of the others.

It will help to bring nature alive and inspire children to learn more.

These are the first of many units - all of which are available for school-wide use.

HISTORY

Time Travelers

If only we could have someone from the past in the classroom!

If you have ever thought that, then this online resource is ideal for you.

There will be many Key Stage 1 and 2 time periods in history to come, and each unit is able to be used independent of the others.

It will help to bring history alive and inspire children to learn more.

BOOKS

Extinction Series

Are you a Busher or a Buttoner? Join together to help fight extinction!

This series of books covers the subject of extinction and the need to look after nature and all its wildlife.

It is done in a fun way, with lots of information, activities and great characters.

The difficult subject of extinction and looking after the planet is dealt with in an entertaining manner that will engage children and encourage them to get involved.

PHSE

Gwillam's Guides

As we grow up, there are so many skills to learn - and that is along with coping with emotions and feelings.

In this online resource, five baby dragons discover roaring and tail slashing is easier than dealing with emotions and feelings.

Gwillam tells pupils how they got on and what they learned.

These light-hearted stories help children understand their feelings, and how to talk about them.
